Overview
The
university of Dodoma is one of the biggest university in East Africa
covering almost 15000 acres, with a total number of seven colleges,
good infrastructures like roads , good social services like
health,water and electricity, Sports and a lot of good features in
in.
Dodoma is one of the Tanzania cities located in the
centre of the country , 455 km west of the previous capital(Dar es
Salaam) and 441km south of Arusha City, the birthplace of the East
African Community. It is also 259 km north of Iringa Municipality via
Mtera. The City covers an area of 2,669 km2 of which 625 km2 is
urbanized.
Dodoma climatic condition is a semi-arid climate with
comparatively warm temperatures throughout the year. Although people
feel happy and satisfied with the weather condition, average minimums
drop to 13°C in July. There is a wet season between November and
April, with all other years remain as a dry season.
The recently smoothned Dodoma Airport and the Central
Railway Line connecting it over a distance of 465 km to DSM is used
to serve the city. Also there are leading highways connecting Dodoma
with Dar es Salaam (Through Morogoro Region) to the East side and
Mwanza City (Through Singida) to the west side, and Arusha (Through
Kondoa) to the north side.
The University of Dodoma / UDOM is located about 8 km
east of the city center, and is approachable by public and private
transports, which are easily available at the city center. Granted
the central location of Dodoma, University of Dodoma is perfectly
positioned to serve applicants around Tanzania and generally
Government and private sector employees live in Dodoma, who so far
could not find training opportunities in the area. Such employees can
utilize well the university to combine work and study for their
career progress. In addition, the geographical location and Dodoma
weather make the University a convenient place for global or
international applicants.
