Description
The Roberts laboratory in the Division of Science, New York University Abu Dhabi, seeks to recruit a short-term research assistant to work on timing newly discovered pulsars. The duration of the appointment would be from August 2020 through October 2020.

The successful applicant will be responsible for analyzing radio telescope data of millisecond pulsars in binary systems taken with the Green Bank Telescope, the Arecibo telescope, and the Giant Metrewave Radio Telescope and preparing the results for publication. Helping with preparing and performing observations and data archiving would also be expected.
Applicants must have a Bachelors degree or higher in Physics or related field. They also must have experience in searching for and timing pulsars using radio telescope data. Experience working with an HPC is also expected.
The terms of employment are competitive and include housing. Applications will be accepted immediately and candidates will be considered until the position is filled.
