Our Systems and Process Excellence Team:
Systems and Process Excellence at Amgen is a function of Global Regulatory Operations. The newly formed function is a global team where professionals are located in CA, US and the UK. This team delivers and maintains regulatory systems and technologies with the goal of continuous improvement with future capabilities. Amgen’s Regulatory Information Data and Document Management System (Veeva Systems Platform) is a key system which the team is responsible for maintaining through continuous implementation of releases as a part of the systems’ life-cycle management. Additionally, the team delivers associated documentation and training aligned with process excellence principles to enable Regulatory Affairs business and compliance requirements.
System Business Administrator role overview:
The primary objective of the AMGEN RIM Business Administrator is to act as a technical expert within Amgen’s Regulatory Information Data & Document Management System (AMGEN RIM, based on Veeva Systems Platform) to support the maintenance and updates of the system by:
Supporting lifecycle management of the AMGEN RIM system based on Amgen business requirements and vendor system updates.
Supporting Governance activities associated with AMGEN RIM system lifecycle maintenance.
Performing Administrator roles within AMGEN RIM to support the day-to-day use of the system.
Responsibilities:
- Support AMGEN RIM lifecycle by creating/managing tools for tracking governance requests and system updates.
- Contribute to Governance by providing impact assessments and representing the integrity of the overall AMGEN RIM system. This may also require the need to provide metrics/data from the system.
- Facilitate meetings with key stakeholders/ decision makers and contribute to Data Standards/Conventions discussions and vendor release assessments.
- Implement Governance outcomes as required. Implementation may include system/data updates, documentation/training updates, system testing, stakeholder communication, or other activities to support a change to system and/or process.
- Engage/Communicate/ Input as necessary with IS and other cross-functional business stakeholders to support system lifecycle management and governance.
- Support training and documentation activities associated with the technical aspects/use of the system.
- Responsible for addressing system/use questions escalated by the business users.
- Maintain Controlled Vocabularies and Lists in AMGEN RIM based on required International Data Standards and Amgen-defined standards.
- Responsible for performing Administrator roles within the AMGEN RIM system
- Support document and content plan template management in AMGEN RIM.
- Support ongoing data integrity and bulk updates of data in the system.
Minimum Requirements
Master’s degree
OR
Bachelor’s degree and directly related experience
OR
Associate’s degree and directly related experience
OR
High school diploma / GED and directly related experience
Preferred Requirements
- Experience in an operationally-focused role within Regulatory Affairs
- Experience in Project Management
- Experience with Veeva Vault Document Management Systems
- Working experience in SharePoint application
- Familiarity of processes associated with AMGEN RIM (Veeva systems platform)
- Technical knowledge of document management systems and databases
- Ability to work well with others in demanding situations with a positive attitude demonstrating tact, diplomacy, and respect
- Good written and verbal communication skills
Location: Cambridge or Uxbridge
