Job Description
Provide consultancy within the area of technology research, planning and development of RTA services, infrastructure and transportation. Develop and promote technical solutions, to support the business requirements
KEY RESULTS ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Identifies technology innovations and analyze them for future business requirements and processes, and recommends new approaches, typically seeking to exploit technology components
- Evaluates likely relevance of emerging technologies for the RTA and provides regular briefings to staff and management. Prepares educational sessions on technology products and solutions to the teams.
- Advice on technology research goals, and makes effective proposals for the investment of funds in RTA’s technology research projects
- Builds and manages relationships with key technology companies as well as research and consulting companies.
- Conducts market research, identifies industry trends, and provides competitive analysis within technology Perform other responsibilities associated with the position as appropriate.
- Supports the Department in positioning and recommending the right technology solutions for the RTA
- Represents the department and participates in technology related events, seminars … etc.
- Participates in RTA strategic technology planning, identifying the next generation of RTA transformation in the key technological competitiveness, and grasp the direction of the technology trends.
- Actively communicates with domestic experts and shares related technology trends and practices
- Make technical presentations on behalf of the Department; write technical papers in international conferences to publicize the Department.
- Works closely with the department’s director, sections managers, and specialists on new technical solutions, ideas and enhancements.
- Understands the trends in technology, and the impact of the technology on government services, infrastructure and transportation.
- Builds and maintains market insights and shares technical knowledge across the teams and sections.
- Hold senior level responsibility and accountability for technological initiatives and projects.
- Collaborate with RTA agencies to define, plan and budget technological initiatives, projects and services within the department.
- Define, coordinate and prioritize the Department use-cases with concerned partners, examine the PoCs/pilots and report on findings, lesson learned, future deployment, partners evaluation and recommendations.
- Follow up and report on evolving technologies and similar projects worldwide.
- Provide advice on areas such MaaS, AI, IOT, Big Data, Realtime Data/ Modelling.
- Communicate the department’s mission, aspirations, objectives, and progress to the key stakeholders.
- Contribute to the SDT strategy development with intensive research on current technologies, models, modes, and best practices to achieve full alignment to leadership aspirations, Dubai government vision/plans and UAE national agenda.
- Identify new kinds, types and sources of technologies to drive business innovation throughout the Department. Define processes for the effective, integrated introduction of RTA transportation strategy.
- Lead the development, publication and maintenance of the departmental road map for its future development that matches and supports business needs
- Ensure the proper planning and budgeting of all technological initiatives, project and activities in accordance to RTA methodologies, systems and approved practices.
- Scan the horizon for emerging technologies, and systems, and better practices to ensure their timely introduction for competitive advantage.
- Perform other responsibilities associated with the position as appropriate.
Qualifications
Ph.D. degree in Transportation / Information Technology from a recognized university preferably in the field of Smart Cities.
