About the opportunity
Ellucian is looking to expand our sales focus with net new customers. Working closely with the Pre-Sales & Services teams to close deals and ensure overall client satisfaction at a high level.

You will be responsible for ensuring that Ellucian’s financial targets for your territory are met by fostering executive level relationships with target clients within the territory and articulating the business value of Ellucian’s software and services based solutions to them.

Where you will make an impact
  • By gaining a thorough understanding of the issues facing the Higher Education market and to ensure Ellucian play a key role in setting / influencing the agenda within the market place.
  • Presenting solutions in the context of ‘business value’ to the client.
  • Allocating part of every client visit to understand or clarify the client’s business challenge and providing value to the client beyond product/service expertise.
  • Presenting an accurate and compelling overview of Ellucian and identifying the most influential people in a given sales opportunity directly through observation and interviews or indirectly through research or third party conversations. Creating a relationship strategy for each key player that affects or is affected by the outcome of the buying decision.
  • Acting as the advocate for the client’s requirements within Ellucian so that both parties benefit from the relationship.
  • Collaborating with partners to build territory strategy and demand generation plans.
  • Supporting partners on deals by helping with qualifying, solution scoping, quoting and deal approvals, as necessary
  • Growing bookings via assigned channel partners from channel sourced and influenced bookings to meet or exceed bookings quota

What you will bring
  • Experience selling software solutions within a global organisation with a focus on Net New opportunities
  • Knowledge and understanding of the higher education industry
  • Ability to negotiate skilfully in tough situations with both internal and external groups.
  • Understand how to settle differences with minimal noise and win concessions without damaging relationships. Both direct and forceful as well as diplomatic.
  • Understand the revenue, expense and margin implications of contracts. Locating and securing the appropriate internal resources and subject matter experts to advance the client relationship
