Your Impact:
Support our fast paced, client centric projects, and have a hand in transforming tomorrow. As an Entry Level Environmental Data Manager (EDM) and Chemist you’ll have the chance to support the development and implementation of enterprise level environmental data management systems, design and execute data management plans, and enable application and adoption of technology tools by clients and project team members. Working with other members of our EDM group, you’ll assist multi-discipline teams of client and consulting staff in providing enterprise environmental information solutions.

Based out of one of our Canadian offices, this job will include environmental chemistry support, including analytical chemistry data validation under the guidance and training of a senior chemist. Familiarity with analytical chemistry methods and concepts will be beneficial. Attention to detail is required since many of the functions of this position are in support of quality assurance and quality control activities. The successful candidate will need to be able to work well with scientists, engineers, and planners on projects involving chemistry, data validation and data management, while having an interest in expanding knowledge base into other disciplines. You’ll have the opportunity to grow personally as well as professionally with each EDM engagement. This position requires a self-motivated individual with the ability to balance work on multiple tasks simultaneously, strong communication skills (written and verbal), and organization. Possible Locations:
Toronto, ON, Calgary, AB, Burnaby, BC or Victoria, BC

Here’s What You’ll Need:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science or related field
  • 1-3 years of experience in environmental field sampling, chemistry, analytical data validation, groundwater modeling, GIS, or a proven history of supporting such projects
  • Familiarity with analytical chemistry methods
  • Experience with environmental software implementations in a consulting/industrial environment a plus.
  • Knowledge of one or more off-the-shelf EDM software package(s) (EQuIS, ESDat, Enfos, Enablon, Intelex, ESRI)
  • Exposure to database or programming platforms (for example, Microsoft Access, Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, Visual Studio, Visual Basic for Applications, HTML, Java/JavaScript or similar).
