Job Description:
Safety Officer (Facilities Management)
Abu Dhabi, UAE
Responsibilities:
- Ensuring compliance with all applicable health and safety, fire and building regulations.
- Managing the day-to-day health and safety of the building.
- Implement Corporate HSE Policy, HSE Plan and HSE legislation and other requirements, monitor HSE performance, HSE targets and suggest measures for further improvement.
- Liaise with Safety Manager and Contractors for the improvement & implementation of Corporate HSE Management ethics.
- Monitor contractors to ensure the implementation applicable Safety measures.
- Review Hazard Analysis / Risk Assessment Plan for all key activities and Monitor the effectiveness of hazard control measures, job safety plans and work method statements at site and carry out HSE visit and report to Resident Engineer for immediate rectification.
- Review and Monitor Contractors monthly HSE inspections / reports.
- Conducting monthly Safety meetings, setting the target to achieve the outstanding issues, prepare / submit the minutes to all concern to follow-up.
- Review Emergency Preparedness and response, Permit to work system, Toolbox Talks, HSE meetings, HSE statistics & records of the contractors according to Company requirement.
- Review building and fit out or change PTW applications from for approvals.
- Managing the day-to-day environmental management of all business activities.
- Review Incident/Accident investigation reports from contractors, reporting & communicating the learning points, and monitor the immediate action and follow-up actions to minimize / prevent from re-occurrence.

Qualifications:
- Bachelors equivalent degree in environmental/loss prevention or any relevant engineering disciplines from an accredited university with minimum seven (7) years relevant experience in the facilities management.
- With recognized Health and Safety education, certifications, license or trainings in UAE (e.g. NEBOSH, OSHA, First Aid, Fire Safety etc).
- 5+ years of facilities management experience working as Safety Officer.
- NEBOSH Certified.
- OSHAD Certified/Knowledge of OSHAD Standards.
- Holder of appropriate licenses / certificates to act as the HSE Officer within the Abu Dhabi HSE sector.
- Strong English verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to participate in a multi-disciplinary, multi-cultural engineering teams.
- Ability to meet stringent timelines to support the overall project and client's programme.
