NOV Elmar is the global leader in the design and manufacturing of wireline products for slickline and electric line applications and is a subsidiary company of National Oilwell Varco Int. (NOV). NOV Elmar has over 900 people spread across 16 different countries to provide truly global support to our clients. We now have a position for a Production Supply Planner to join the team. The role will involve sourcing and planning materials, components and assemblies in support of the manufacturing Master Production Schedule. The Production Supply Planner reports to the Manufacturing Planning Manager.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Convert purchase and manufacturing demand from the MPS (Master Production Schedule) to Purchase Orders and Works Orders.
- Manage and update PO & WO delivery dates, quantities and any special-sales order specific requirements, to ensure they meet the Master Production Schedule requirements.
- Ensure stock levels are proactively managed in conjunction with the Master Production Scheduler.
- Monitor and expedite late Purchase and Works Orders. Liaise closely with the Master Production Scheduler for all items that will not meet the requirements of the Master Production Schedule and provide solutions as necessary.
- Analyze and recommend cost improvement ideas through product, vendor, and design changes.
- Ensure all manufacturing data is accurate, including manufacturing routings, hours booked to work orders, materials issued to jobs.
- Proactively manage the Work Order closure process ensuring correct information is always available within the ERP.
- Proactively monitor supplier performance and develop vendors to improve on-time delivery, product quality and reduce lead-times.
- Work closely with external suppliers to ensure all goods are received within the required timescales and to required quality levels.
- Ensure all invoice queries are closed down in a timely and satisfactory manner, assisting inventory control with any queries in goods receiving.
- Undertake vendor analysis and selection along with identifying and establish supply agreements to the benefit the organization
- Participate in meetings and keep up to date on issues related to Purchase and Works Order delivery, New Product introductions, vendor performance, Metrics, capacity constraints and other related Supply Chain and manufacturing issues.
- Ensure all BOM updates are understood and prioritized within the manufacturing and supply process.
- Maintain departmental Capacity Planning tools to ensure to support the creation of accurate Master Production Scheduling. Advising the Manufacturing planning manager of future constrained periods; load level production planning and identify potential corrective actions such as: working overtime, adding equipment, outsourcing or expediting.
- Achieve target On-time delivery and Lead-time and inventory turn levels based on manufacturing and supply chain capacity/flexibility.
- Identify materials with no further use and recommend disposition.
- Represent the organization in a responsible and professional manner.
- Engage in any other activities as requested by the Manufacturing Planning Manager.
