About the role
Primary purpose of the job is to accomplish the department projects objectives by planning and evaluating the related activities ensuring compliance with the applicable local and international operational regulations and requirements to maintain the safety, compliance and quality of Qatar Airways Flight Operations. To manage special projects as directed by the VPRA. And support the Regulatory Affairs Vice President in the management of the department. The role requires liaison with Qatar Civil Aviation Authority (QCAA) and International Civil Aviation Authorities for matters related to flight operations. The role includes, but is not limited to the following responsibilities:• Review, improve and create internal procedures related to the Regulatory Affairs projects and tasks.
• Create, develop and deliver performance review and strategic analysis presentations to the Regulatory Affairs Vice President, analyzing the projects managed by the department versus the means of compliance defined to each project based on the applicable civil aviation requirements.
• Study all new Regulations and provide advice to internal stakeholders, such as Flight Training, Cabin Services, IOC, Technical Publications, Cargo, and others, on new requirements related to their core business.
• Prepare and complete action plans to achieve the department projects objectives.
• Support the Regulatory Affairs Vice President to liaise with QCAA on all Regulatory matters related to the Flight, Ground, Cargo operations and the Training Department.
• Support the Regulatory Affairs Vice President to maintain relationship with global aviation Regulators in order to gain information and establish good communications.
Qualifications
About You• Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent with Minimum 10 years of job-related experience
Essential:
• Relevant College or University qualification to min Bachelor's level• * Project management.
• Experience in managing personnel
• Experience managing relationships with Civil Aviation Authorities.
• Work experience in airline Management positions either within Qatar Airways or comparable airline including knowledge of daily airline operating procedures.
• Comprehensive knowledge of civil aviation regulations, requirements and procedures (e.g. QCAR, FAR, IATA, EASA, ICAO).
• Knowledge of Safety and Standard Practices.
• Familiarity with Quality / Compliance Management Systems, SMS, FRMS.
• Previous Regulatory Experience will be advantageous.
Preferred:
• Post-Graduated Degree.• Studies in aviation management or experience as Senior Captain holding or have held a type rating for an aircraft operated by Qatar Airways or equivalent.
