ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Ensure rules, standards and procedures are followed in the execution of the project.
  • Ensure that the assigned project tasks are well managed as per the statement of requirement, company specifications and contractual requirements.
  • Ensure that the project is executed in accordance with the organization’s safety regulations, with quality conformance and within schedule.
  • Ensure that EPCIC CONTRACTOR delivers a high-quality detailed engineering dossier for Construction and Installation phases.
  • Ensure thorough and efficient engineering documentation review, comments and follow-up on due time, and provide inputs and follow up of the internal technical reviews (Project Reviews, etc.)
  • Ensure that the projects are executed in accordance with the organization’s safety regulations, with quality conformance and within schedule and budget.
  • Ensure that all the interfaces with the CONTRACTOR’s electrical team are correctly managed.
  • Responsible for electrical engineering consistency between all the project packages.

JOB DIMENSIONS

  • The job holder is in charge of all technical design aspect of the electrical engineering aspects related to the project.
  • The job holder is based in engineering contractor premises during the detailed design development and will have to follow the project team during the following phases until completion of the project.
  • The Job holder belongs to the engineering team and reports directly to the Lead, Electrical and Instrument Engineering and to the engineering lead.
  • In addition the job holder will have to report to different deparment Leads, Electrical and Instrument Engineering any defects, threats and their solutions to protect safe production operations.

ACTIVITIES

  • Promote & comply in all activities with applicable safety instructions and other HSE procedures.
  • Carry out work in compliance with values and policies, relevant laws and regulations, agreed priorities and objectives, standards and procedures and good industry practices.
  • Follow-up of EPCIC engineering development activities progress related to electrical development for the project by the CONTRACTORS, the LLI and packages vendors (as applicable).
  • The scope of activities will mainly concern brownfield modelling activities on existing platforms. The activities include the review and comment of ENGINEERING and VENDOR (if applicable) electrical related documentation and reports to ensure compliance with design dossier, SOR, Company specifications, Corporate standard and HSEQ regulation, international codes, BV and SOLAS applicable rules.
  • Develop design of integrated electrical systems (Transformers, short circuit, load sharing/shading, SLD, cable sizing…).
  • Prepare single line diagrams, electrical calculations, cable sizing, specifications for electrical materials,
  • Prepare requisitions for Electrical material procurement and technical bids evaluation.
  • Define, specify and carry out necessary technical studies in order to propose robust and optimized technical solutions.
  • Prepare support studies (scope of work, cost estimates and technical dossiers) for electrical related activities.
  • Plan and organize the supervision of the offshore electrical survey campaigns to ensure technical compliance of the contractors with the Contract(s). Development of particular project guidelines and procedures.
  • Lead the electrical technical review of the bidders proposals and prepare technical recommendations accordingly.
  • Check and approve electrical engineering deliverables received from Contractors during detailed Engineering.
  • Review & Comment Vendors deliverables, interpret facilities engineering drawings, designs and make necessary recommendations.
  • Follow-up Purchase Orders of electrical equipment to ensure timely approval, conformity of design.
  • Participate in technical reviews and FAT with Vendors.
  • Interact with Technical Safety, Process, Instrumentation, Piping and Mechanical disciplines mainly and interface with Procurement Dept.
  • Plan and conduct KOM with contractors, JRA/work permits meetings in liaison with entity.
  • Coordinate with entity for the integration of new electrical material in existing facilities and provide trouble shooting expertise in case of deficiencies of existing equipment

CONTEXT AND ENVIRONMENT

PROJECT mainly consist in two main scope dealing with:
  • Main scope: New produced Water Management modules fully equipped to be fabricated and installed offshore (with HLV), modules being either jacket supported or in cantilever on 2 different locations of field (A & B Locations) and all associated brownfield and integration works.
  • Main options: New outboard slots module to be installed on Platform (T&I by HLV) including subsea structures (boat fender and CP guides) and all associated integration works,

Environment:

  • Complex operational interfaces with other entities of company in a major and large Brownfield offshore environment.
  • Mature installations with significant integrity issues.
  • EPCIC execution shall take place at Contractor premises,
  • Possibility of multiple worldwide missions or relocations to follow-up engineering development and EPCIC execution with various contractors.

Base scheme:

  • Doha (Qatar) office with missions to project premises (CONTRACTOR WORKSHOPS / warehouse / onshore / offshore SITES / in the country / outside the country).
  • Potential mobilization abroad Qatar depending of the EPCIC execution scheme.
  • Standard project hours, 5 days a week

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Minimum Qualification: B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Recognized expertise in the field of Electrical engineering of oil & gas facilities with 12+ years of experience
  • Minimum 5 years of last professional experience in Electrical design engineering activities for offshore upstream oil and gas industry in both brown and green field project environment. Strong knowledge of SIMOPS and brownfield projects.
  • Good sense of team spirit, leadership, strong interpersonal & soft communication skills.
  • Fluent in English both verbal and written.
