Description
The MENA Financial Institutions Associate is an exciting regional junior level role in Corporate Banking responsible for supporting senior coverage banker among others on transaction executions and credit and financial analysis across all BCMA products. The Associate serves as an intermediary for large Financial Institutions clients from the GCC region to ensure their banking needs are supported and assists the primary relationship bankers and product partners to further enhance the overall relationship. The role involves working with VP and Directors to develop our client base as well, notably in the Fintech space. The Associate also works closely with the MENA Head of Financial Institutions on regional internal projects and reviews.Responsibilities:
- Work closely with bankers to provide overall relationship management support
- Be involved in full range of corporate banking products in transaction banking, corporate lending, trade financing, debt capital markets, foreign exchange and interest rate derivatives, markets solutions.
- Responsible for execution activities in coordination with Bankers, Relationship Analysts and product / industry partners
- Responsible for developing knowledge of all credit, transactional and franchise risks in coordination with senior coverage officers to facilitate deal execution and risk mitigation processes, including the preparation of credit approvals, obtaining Capital and Risk approvals, and supervising transaction return calculations
- Evaluate public filings, research reports, operations, business plans and financial forecasts to produce strategic and financial analyses
- Continuously stay informed of best practices and market and industry trends as well as Citi’s offerings to respond to these changes
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Qualifications:
- 2-4 years of relevant experience
- Experience in Finance or closely related areas of Business Administration
- Proven and progressive related lending/credit experience or equivalent product experience
- Demonstrated credit and analytical kills,
- Experience with large institutional clients, capital markets products, derivatives, credit, cash management, trade, finance and securities products preferred
- Comprehensive knowledge of Corporate Banking business including related products, pertinent regulations and the lending and credit approval process
- Consistently demonstrate clear and concise written and verbal communication
- Demonstrated planning, negotiation, organizational and analytical skills
Education:
- Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience
- Masters would be an advantage
