JOB PURPOSE

Performs geological work around the process of acquiring, analyzing, and interpreting geological data in order to provide accurate and customized services to clients. Provides geological advice in one or a small number of specialized technical disciplines and develops solutions for clients by putting acquired geological data into context.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide services in accordance with PIS, contract specifications, and as instructed by Senior Engineering Geologist and Engineers.
  • Obtain PIS from the project coordinator and understand project scope, make sure work is executed as per PIS and Fugro standards.
  • To be fully aware of the company’s contractual obligations for the project, understand the Project Specifications and PIS, and ensure they are met. Monitor and organize site progress, logging, data processing with project-appointed engineer/geologist in office and support of technical assistants.
  • Organize and execute all field testing and supervision using appropriate techniques in coordination with the Fugro standard documents and international standards.
  • Understand the purpose of geotechnical Investigation on each project and understand the project specifications and requirements.
  • Understand investigation methodology and field testing and take responsibility for all testing equipment mobilized for the project.
  • Responsible for producing and checking the logs field test results lab test schedules and core photos in accordance with Fugro standards
  • Provide information of the site conditions after initial site assessment; prepare field test reports, borehole logs, and lab schedules, and factual reports with guidance from Senior Geologist and Engineers.
  • Ensure that the fieldwork is executed in accordance with the Fugro approved procedures and acceptance standards. Report non-conformances to senior geologists.
  • Ensure that Fugro policies and procedures are understood, implemented, and adhered to by all employees.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Engineering degree – Civil Engineering in Geotechnical or Geology
  • 3-8 years
  • 2 year’s experience in soil investigation, logging, drilling methods, and detailed understanding of in-situ testing and familiar with laboratory testing
