Job Purpose –

To optimize operational efficiency by directing all Departmental heads and establishing, formulating, defining and developing strategies to achieve unit operational growth as per the CityMax Corporate direction. To optimize revenues & profitability targets and to be the best in its class in both the service and product standards.

Key Accountabilities –

Managerial

  • Plan, forecast, and budget the revenues & cost for the Hotel.
  • Create work environment that is high in employee morale and provides constant learning and development and use the feedback from Employee Satisfaction Survey to draw an action plan.
  • Recruitment and Performance Appraisal / Management of the employees in the hotel.
  • Develop and implement the Annual Strategy linking the hotel’s objectives to the overall Citymax strategy.
  • Constantly benchmark and innovative both products and services in line with the changing customer expectations.
  • Create a culture of alignment between individual and the hotel objectives.
  • Drive a Performance culture through all levels of employees in the hotel.

Operational

  • Maximize revenue and profitability of the hotel through best of class production and service standards in order to dazzle and delight the customer.
  • Timely usage of financial and statistical information in effective management decision making.
  • Monitor complaints and take measure to ensure complaint reduction.
  • Monitor rooms market share and to improve revenues against the current budget & previous years’ performance.
  • Monitor, improve Food & Beverage market share and Revenue per Available Room.
  • Maintain excellent external contact in the not only the competition business but also the city hospitality scenario.
  • Identify and develop talent through appropriate career progression plans in coordination with Corporate Human Resources.
  • Ensure alignment of Training and Development activities with operational goals & objectives.
  • Ensure imparting both technical and attitudinal training to all employees.
  • Ensure optimal staffing levels and rooms to staff ratios.
  • Ensure implementation of Total Quality or any other similar initiative which captures and finally increases the bottom line of unit.
  • Maintain high standards of hygiene and sanitation in the unit.
  • Recommend and constantly review upgradation of the hotel facilities, products, equipment, and services.
  • Ensure compliance of statutory requirements of the unit.
  • Take a active part in the Landmark Community and environmental initiatives in the hotel.

Citymax Hotel - Egypt
  • Optimally and proactively handle the relationship of Citymax Aswan and Alexandrea valued owners and management of the properties.
  • Proactively own the communication between Citymax Hotels head office and the owners/management of Citymax Aswan Hotels and Alexandrea to understand, gain agreement and accelerate the adoption of Citymax Hotels initiatives and strategies.
  • Facilitate and coordinate regular consultations and annual / Monthly portfolio review meetings to review hotel performance, discuss business opportunities and action plan development, and/or follow up.
  • Align the sales and action plans based on owning company approved budget.
  • Follow up regular on management fees payments, expenses and all financial aspects.
  • Quarterly visit for at least 3 days and maximum 7 days to audit, meet and follow up with owners’ team and hotel operation team.
  • Assist in all hiring process of key positions includes hotel manager or GM
  • Be the key factor of communication and support to the managed hotels by support in marketing initiatives, sales calls etc…

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

Education
Bachelors/Master’s degree in Hotel Management /Business Management

Job Experience

  • 12 to 15 years of experience in Hotel operations
  • Minimum 3 - 5 years as General Manager in 3 or 4-star hotel
  • GCC experience must.

  • Arab Nationals only
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experienced and effective people manager.
  • On the feet thinking to drive creative solutions to overcome obstacles.
  • Challenges status quo and acts with a sense of urgency to mitigate risk.
  • Has strategic mindset but is a tactical operator.
  • Is a leader with the ability to coach, mentor and motivate.
