As Production Manager, you will maintain the seamless co-ordination of a multi-functioned team to ensure manufacturing processes run reliably and efficiently in order to achieve on time delivery and ultimately the financial targets of our business. You will follow and communicate a systematic daily/weekly routine of reviewing the plan, setting product line priorities, allocating resource, reviewing output and identifying corrective actions to attain the plan. You will be the driving force behind your team, creating a sense of urgency to ensure that the targets for OTIF (On Time in Full), attainment to plan (ATP) and production efficiency are met and continuously improved upon through the application of lean principles and promotion of cross functional learning. In collaboration with the management team you will contribute to the creation and implementation of best practice lean vision in line with our ‘best in class’ global strategy. As Production Manager, you will be expected to harness a working environment which encourages team work, accountability and an engaged workforce. You will be responsible for improving productivity and profitability through the implementation of effective work methods and problem-solving tools.
- HNC/D in a Production/Manufacturing discipline
- Degree in a Manufacturing related qualification.
- Working knowledge of manufacturing and supply chain related activities including, scheduling, efficient assembly methods, just in time delivery, cost reduction and control.
- Working knowledge of implementing and monitoring of corrective action programs.
- Proven experience in the successful application of Lean and CI techniques.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver cost reduction and operational performance results.
- Experience in financial forecasting and annual financial planning is desirable.
- Computer literacy (including good command of Microsoft Office - Excel, Word and Outlook)
- Understanding of manufacturing processes such as welding, castings, CNC machining, product inspection, mechanical assembly.
- Understanding of ERP System and its usage.
- Familiar with MRP operations Quality Assurance and TPS Toyota Production System.
- Thorough understanding of manufacturing operations surrounding scheduling, purchasing and inventory control.
