Role Purpose
The Senior Specialist: Outsourced Commercial Operations Management role based within Commercial Operations.

The Senior Specialist, Outsourced Commercial Operations Management is responsible for managing the outsourced budget through tactical planning and development of the partners. Responsibilities for the role will involve activities relating to designing solutions for the service and sales teams, developing and delivering customer service strategies to drive business growth and sales uplift through the operating teams. They will take ownership of the customer and the customers interface with the organizations service offering, making sure the strategic commercial objectives are met. They will lead drafting, implementing and evaluating cross functional decisions that will enable the organization to achieve its long-term objectives.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Managing Commercial Objectives - Setting and executing the Commercial objectives as negotiated through the Outsourced agreements
  • Responsible for creating annual budget requirements and associated commercial plan for COPS outsourcing
  • Responsible for optimizing financial expenditure associated with flexible resourcing and outsourcing environments
  • Responsible for commercial modelling and scenario planning that deliver against the organization strategy
  • Participate in key business planning initiatives
  • Consolidation of the agreed business plans - across (Operations, Tribe and Service Design and VB Care) to support alignment and achievement of the agreed budget outcomes set – example call volume reduction, end to end case management and customer tiered support and service
  • Provide support to new/existing members within the team
  • Support partner on-boarding, partner exit or other change implementations by ensuring relevant tasks are assigned to ensure change implementation delivery with no adverse impact on customer experience
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to create and agree on high level delivery plans, monitoring progress and managing risk by further acting as an information source and communicator between various parties
  • Leading, driving and negotiating the Outsourced RFI, RFX, SOW and RFP discussions and engagements across the business, supply chain and VPC
  • Lead commercial negotiations with key business partner stakeholders to support cost reduction strategy and achieve budget target
  • Assist with commercial Requests for Proposal construction
  • Responsible for inputs into commercials related to RFP and RFI requests
  • Review, analyze and evaluate all Requests for Proposal pricing from procurement
  • Business Insights - Providing insights, and recommendations on new and changing commercial models and the outsourced estate evolves
  • Designing and providing insight into changing commercial models as the estate evolves
  • Work with internal research and strategy teams accountable to deliver strategic business insights
  • Proactively and continuously assess the relevant marketplace and its dynamics, customers and competitors to provide an unbiased point of view on the performance of markets/brands, supported by facts and evidence
  • Lead internal competitive intelligence efforts to ensure the organization anticipates and plans for competitive actions and market events
  • Managing the outsourced budget - Managing and tracking the outsourced budget forecast, run rate and actuals and implementing improvement plans where applicable and required to ensure the outsourced budget is not exceeded
  • Identify and propose areas of cost containment in terms of approved contracts
  • Monitor and track outsourcing budget and associated costs
  • Audit and/or compile monthly billing from outsource partners to assess accuracy
The ideal candidate for this role will have:
  • Matric /Grade 12 is essential
  • Relevant 3 year Degree is Essential
  • Postgraduate Qualification (Desirable)
  • 5+ years Contact Centre, Commercial, Analytics and/or Operational Support experience is essential
  • Advanced skills in Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Negotiation, Programme management experience (Essential)
  • 2 years supervisory experience (preferred)
