This client is a large nationally focused Investment Management company located in Boston, MA. They pride themselves in providing high level service to clients and are looking for a Property Accountant individual who will share these values as well.
Position Overview:
As a Property Accountant you will be responsible for performing all the accounting functions for your portfolio of properties. The Property Accountant will communicate between the Property management staff, Corporate accounting staff, and Department Managers.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and process all journal entries monthly and create monthly financials within the schedule deadlines
- Analyze the monthly financial reports and update the Accounting Manager on any concerns
- Manage and maintain GAAP accrual general ledgers
- Prepare monthly Workpapers according to the Workpaper model
- Reconcile monthly bank statements
- Review all expenses, income, deferred leasing and purchases for coding and payment purposes
- Help prepare the budget and reprojection and provide analysis
- Help with any special projects when needed and support the accounting teams when needed
- Prepare reporting and attend weekly meetings
- 2-3 years of accounting experience out of Public Accounting
- A thorough grasp of basic accounting functions
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- A team player who is able to collaborate with different teams
