Position Title: Finance Manager, Platforms and Ecosystems

Minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • Relevant financial or analytical experience in finance, management consulting, corporate strategy, including financial planning and analysis (FP&A) and project management experience.
  • Experience with quantitative analysis and systems.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Significant commercial business partnering experience in technology, consumer electronics, telecommunications, or FMCG; or relevant experience in consulting.
  • Experience managing people with a track record of empowering people to bring the best out of the team.
  • Firm knowledge of FP&A, reporting, planning and forecasting best practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative and self-direct work in an unstructured environment; ability to navigate ambiguity and bring clarity to changing priorities.
  • Ability to manage cross-functionally in a matrixed organization.

Our Platforms and Ecosystems Finance team, part of the wider EMEA Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) team, partners with the Android, Google Play, and Chrome teams across EMEA. We enable our platforms and partners to grow by helping the business make better decisions. Your work will impact regional decisions but will also have a global impact on Android users.

In this role, you will help drive and develop the performance of the Android and Google Play businesses in EMEA and partner with senior business leaders. You will see a wide cross-section of Google’s products and will work closely with local finance and business partners, as well as with our counterparts in the US and APAC.

The name Google came from "googol," a mathematical term for the number 1 followed by 100 zeros. And nobody at Google loves big numbers like the Finance team when providing in depth analysis on all manner of strategic decisions across Google products. From developing forward-thinking analysis to generating management reports to scaling our automated financial processes, the Finance organization is an important partner and advisor to the business.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with EMEA senior leadership on Android and Google Play, driving partnerships, agreements, and investments which bring positive returns to Google. Surface insights to support (or challenge) business partner decisions.
  • Oversee core Finance processes in monthly reporting, forecasting, budget management, and financial planning, including profit-and-loss (P&L) management for the Google Play business.
  • Drive operational excellence in agreement-making, modeling, and influence strategy of go-to-market efforts with data, define investment guardrails and required returns for agreements.
  • Coach and mentor experienced analysts and guide their day-to-day work.
  • Serve as an effective steward for Google's overall and long-­term interests, including making resourcing recommendations to drive productivity gains and developing suitable headcount and opex plans, ensuring that investment is allocated sensibly.
