WSP is currently initiating a search for a Lead Structural Engineer for our Buffalo, New York office. The candidate should have strong 3D BIM and LOD 400 digital delivery experience (preferably with bridge experience).

Duties And Responsibilities
• The ideal candidate will have broad-based, hands-on experience in structural and transportation engineering including the ability to execute tasks as part of a multi-disciplinary team
• Assignments may include: Planning, Analysis, Design and Rehabilitation of Highway Bridges, Transit and Transportation Facilities for all phases of a project from conceptual design through final design; Digital delivery of project deliverables; Analysis Design and Retrofit of Retaining Walls; Construction Staging Analysis; Evaluation of Existing Structures and Load Ratings; Plan Development, Preparation of Specifications, Review of Construction Phase Submittals and Shop Drawings; Preparation of Technical Reports; and Participation in Field Work including Construction and Structural Integrity Inspection.
• Experience with structural steel design, reinforced concrete design and prestressed concrete design is required
• Serve as a structural task lead and be capable of leading a design team in the preparation of plans and reports for the various design phase submissions
• Possibilty for Project Management for specifc projects
• Mentoring & Client Interaction

Job Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
• A Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited college/university in Civil Engineering with a focus in structural engineering
• At least 7 to 10 years of experience
• Professional Engineer License
• Strong Experience with Bridge BIM and Digital Delivery including use of softwares such as Open Bridge Modeler, Open Bridge Designer, Revit, Infraworks, Rhinoceros 3D, Grasshopper, and Tekla.
• Ability to efficiently use structural analysis software such as Larsa, SAP 2000, MIDAS, RISA 3D or equal is required
• Successful candidate will mentor and guide junior engineers during the planning and design process
• Successful candidates will have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures
• Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies

Preferred Qualifications
• A Masters Degree in Structural Engineering
• NYSDOT bridge design, BIM, and digital delivery experience.
