The Opportunity
Save the Children International has an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as the - Accounts Payable Assistant in London.
Role Purpose:
The Accounts Payable Assistant is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of supplier invoices and employee expenses, resolving queries promptly and maintaining good working relationships with staff and suppliers. Excellent customer service, organisational and communication skills are essential to provide high service standards and maintain robust financial controls.

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
- Day to day processing of invoices in SAP Ariba and Agresso, ensuring that invoices are checked and charges are correct and that any discrepancies are investigated and dealt with appropriately
- Ensure that invoices are authorised for payment by relevant department managers and matched to purchase orders where applicable
- Ensure timely processing of expense claims onto Agresso.
- Execute payment runs as scheduled
- Ensure an up to date record of supplier bank and contacts details.
- Reconciling supplier statements in Agresso and request copy invoices where necessary.
- Respond to queries from suppliers and staff in a timely and appropriate manner raising any problems or issues with the Finance Manager at the earliest opportunity.
- Checking through corporate credit cards expenses and post in Agresso. Working closely with the Finance Manager to clear control accounts, reporting any difficulties or queries.
- Review the Accounts Payable allocated inbox emails on a daily basis and ensure problems/issues are raised with AP Manager at the earliest opportunity.
- Filling hard copies of supplier invoices and staff expenses. You will also maintain an accurate filing system of soft copy invoices in the AP email folder and SharePoint
- Assist with the archiving of old files
- Contribute to electronic archiving project
- Provide cover for other colleagues as required
- Other duties as required in line with your skills and experience

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- 1-2 years accounts payable experience with good numeracy skills is essential
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles
- Practical experience of using computerised accounting systems
- Proven ability to work quickly and accurately, paying attention to detail
- Good reconciliation skills; intermediate level of Excel knowledge is desirable.
- Excellent communication, organisation and administration skills
- Ability to plan and prioritise own work to meet deadlines
- Ability to work within set guidelines individually and as a team member
- Excellent problem solving skills

This role can be based in (Location) or any existing Save the Children office location on approval, provided the successful candidate has proof of eligibility to work from the preferred location.
