The University of York Management School & SPSW is coming together to form a strong Professional & Support Staff Team. They will support not only a large academic community but a vibrant and diverse student body. We are seeking to recruit a new P&SS team member to work in a busy and varied role that will suit someone with strong organisational skills, excellent attention to detail and a professional attitude.

Role
Fixed-term contract until the end of June 2022.

The role is designed to provide comprehensive administrative support within the School:
To be the first point of contact for all visitors and academic staff, providing a high-quality service at all times.
To be a key member of the School support team, taking responsibility for the day-to-day administrative processes.

The applicant will bring their exceptional organisational, interpersonal and IT skills to provide comprehensive, high-level support, carrying out a range of duties An enthusiastic team player with a “can-do” attitude.

Skills, Experience & Qualification needed
• A general education to include 5 GCSE passes at Grade C or above (including Maths and English), or an equivalent educational qualification, or relevant experience
• Good knowledge of all MS office applications, particularly Excel, Word, Access and PowerPoint in additional to the full Google Suite
• Thorough knowledge of administrative procedures and processes in a busy office within a large complex organisation
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple competing deadlines
• Ability to provide a high level of customer service, support and advice to students, staff and external contacts
• Experience of dealing with confidential and sensitive information
• Providing assistance with Projects/ Research Grant Administration as required.
• Assisting with the organisation and support of meetings, conference, seminars, guest lecture, workshops etc., including sourcing and booking suitable rooms/venues.
• Communication with Speakers and delegates as directed.
• working alongside central and School finance staff to all financial needs within the school are supported.
• General office duties such as purchasing, stock monitoring, post room tasks, reporting maintenance issues etc.
