Description
Our ambition towards modern, forward thinking products, services and ways of working are at the heart of the significant growth of the Authentication division at De La Rue, helping to protect our customers against counterfeit and illicit trade, securing revenue and safeguarding reputation.We are recruiting for a Data Analyst who is passionate about data and capable of transforming that data into information and insight to support the business and our customers, and to help inform the decisions they make.
Reporting to the Infrastructure Manager, the Data Analyst will
- Build relationships with data stakeholders in order to help develop and ensure adherence to data quality standards
- Develop and influence the Authentication Division data strategy
- Work with management and other stakeholders to prioritize business and information needs
- Lead initiatives for data management
- Deliver quality assurance of data, working with quality assurance analysts if necessary
- Develop reports from single or multiple systems and heterogenous data sources
- Provide technical expertise in data storage structures, data mining, and data cleansing
- Analyse, interpret, and identify trends or patterns in data sets and develop opportunities based on their findings
- Develop reports, visualisations, and analysis.
- Manage and design the reporting environment, including data sources, security, master data and metadata
- Troubleshoot the data environment and reports
- Demonstrable working experience as a Data Analyst or Business Data Analyst
- Knowledge of querying SQL databases and ideally other sources via REST interfaces etc
- Strong knowledge of and experience with reporting tools (Business Objects, Power BI, Tableau), databases (SQL Server), partially structured data (XML, json), and ETL frameworks
- Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical techniques for analysing datasets including tools such as Excel, SPSS, SAS etc)
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products / M365
- Technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques
- An interest in resolving data issues, updating / cleaning data sources, including databases
- Ability to present ideas and concepts clearly and concisely to any level of the organisation
- Ability to work with people across the organisation and end-users
