L&D Executive

As Learning & Development Executive, you will be expected to support the Cluster L&D Manager in his daily tasks, assisting both with training delivery and administrative tasks, monitoring and tracking training attendances and system usage.

HOTEL OVERVIEW:

Fairmont The Palm is a luxury, world-class resort located on the iconic Palm Jumeirah Island in Dubai. The hotel features 391 guest rooms and suites with dedicated Fairmont Gold rooms and lounge. A total of 11 food and beverage outlets on property offer international dining options including Little Miss India, Frevo - Brazilian Churrasco experience, Seagrill Bistro, Ba Restaurant and Lounge, Blowfish, Flow Kitchen, The Cigar Room, Vuvuzela and others. Fairmont The Palm also features an expansive pool and beach area with a health club, Willow Stream Spa and the Fairmont Falcons Kids’ Club.

Summary of Responsibilities:

  • Assists with filing and tracking of all training-related documents. Ensures training attendances, certificates, performance reviews are tracked and updated in an efficient manner. Maintains accurate and up to date records of all training activities: in classroom, On Job Trainings and online.
  • Monitors department training and on job training (dept induction, dept trainers, dept processes) and ensures consistency and quality of training.
  • Initiates, co-ordinates, executes and follows-up on all training activities within the hotel.
  • Assists in driving the colleague’s recognition program and organize celebration with the Talent & Culture Team. Assist with the coordination and organization of employee relation activities including Employee Recognition events, Town Hall Meetings and Yearly Staff Parties
  • Maintains excellent relations with staff. Provides an advice service to both managers and colleagues on training opportunities, career choices, qualifications and other T&C concerns.
  • Creates training material if not available with simple, creative and attractive content.
  • Must be able to perform a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another of a different nature without loss of efficiency or composure.
  • Administers the purchasing process for training materials. Maintains accurate inventory of all supplies and equipment within T&C and L&D. Keeps track of all the Financial day-to-day tasks of the Department (ie tracking expenses, accruals, dealing with suppliers and purchasing)
  • Keeps the internal communication boards current, organized and exciting.
  • Ensures colleagues are aware of and use all training tools available in the company and in the property, including INES and all the different courses available in it.
  • Manages all cross training requests and maintain all records.
  • Ensures all requests for training by colleagues are responded to in a timely manner and follow up is conducted where appropriate.
  • Is a Brand and Quality Ambassador, consistently achieving high performance results, positive and proactively promoting the business values and vision.
  • Is aware of and interested in learning about the top industry trends and uses these tools to ensure that best practices are being engaged.
  • Others duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in L&D department
  • Knowledge of luxury hotel standards
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Experience in Public Speaking / Presentation
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and take initiative
  • Excellent organizational skills & Analytical skill
  • Bubbly personality, always in the look for ideas to improve the department and colleagues’ experience
