Plan International will implement a WASH, food & nutrition security programme called the ‘Healthy Village (Gender Transformative WASH – Nutrition) Programme’, to reduce stunting and water- and fecal-borne diseases in a sustainable manner, jointly developed and implemented with the Government of Ethiopia in Shebel Berenta woreda, East Gojjam Zone of Amhara region.

The position will be undertaking all tasks for project management on field level in the implementation of the Healthy Village project-integrated WASH, Food and Nutrition Security incorporating Climate Resilient Agriculture in accordance with Plan’s Child Cemented Community Development (CCCD approach. He/she ensure that quality project deliveries are reflected within the entire project cycle and that all field program implementation is undertaken efficiently and effectively. The position holder technically works closely with the Healthy Village team at APA, CO and supports the programme teams to ensure proactive engagement in the area of networking and collaboration, learning and knowledge management within the broader organization and with another partner organization.

The position holder is fully responsible for the delivery of results inline with the project’s objectives and supports program implementation at all stages throughout the project cycle. S/he is responsible for ensuring the quality of program delivery to keep the project on track and compliant.

The post holder will report to the Healthy Village Coordinator at Amhara Program Area Office. The post holder will have responsibility for the planning, management, operation, coordination and regular monitoring of Healthy Village project to be implemented in Amhara PA, Shebel Berenta district.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Facilitate the implementation of Annual plan on the planned time.
• Ensure the technical soundness, appropriateness, and general quality in all aspects of the project cycle
• Manage and ensure that project activities are implemented according to the project proposal and project implementation plan.
• The Position holder is responsible for initiating development and delivery of annual work plans, as well as budget preparation and review.
• Prepare and summit physical, financial and narrative report to the APA Healthy Village Project Office.
• Contribute to the development of Food/Nutrition concept notes and proposals for additional funding opportunities.
• Facilitate capacity building activities for stakeholders as per the project plan to achieve the project objectives.
• Liaise with different stakeholders, document project activities and share lessons to stakeholders at woreda level.
• Ensure effective and efficient management of financial resources, including review and check project budgets allocation for food/nutrition security related activities to be implemented in the woreda, including partner per dime, training and support costs to the community.
• Work with the M&E Specialist to ensure relevant and quality project results and data is collected, analysed, and disseminated to support evidence-based project intervention.
• Identifies gaps in project implementation and practices, extracts learnings on successes, challenges, and lessons learned for corrective action and improvement
• Ensure the mainstreaming of CP, inclusion and DRR in the project.
• Communicate with Amhara Program Area team regarding project implementation.
• Facilitate communication with stakeholders at Woreda level to contribute to the promotion/networking of the project. This include attending meetings/workshops in the woreda, establishing excellent partnership with all stakeholders to implement project activities in the woreda and each kebele.
• Include child right issues when project agreements are signed with individuals/firms and Plan etc. and facilitate the participation of children in project activities.
• Ensure equal and fair opportunities and representation of both sexes, persons with disabilities and other social exclusion in the program
• Assume any other responsibility as assigned by supervisor

Dealing with Problems:

• Lead and facilitate the analysis of the capabilities of suppliers to supply agricultural technologies, inputs and processed nutrition components before offering works and also once commissioned and the needs close working relationships with project staff.

Communications and Working Relationships:

• Works closely with government offices, local and International NGOs and relevant Plan Program Area Staffs.
• Establish good relationship and working environment in the organization with the different project coordinators, managers, specialists and other support staff.

Education, Qualification and Knowledge.

• MSc/BSC Degree in Nutrition, Public Health, Agriculture, or related disciplines.
• 3 years of work experience for master’s degree and 7 years of experience for Bachelor with considerable experience in managing multidimensional projects on integrated WASH, Health & Nutrition as well as hands-on experience on child growth monitoring, food & nutrition security focusing on climate resilient agriculture. NGO experience will be advantageous
