Overview:
Element has an opportunity for a Failure Analyst who will be primarily responsible for the failure analysis inspections, operations, reporting and consultation services.Responsibilities:
- Conducting and reporting of failure analysis
- Presentation of technical work in different platforms, both written and oral in a confident manner
- Exhibit pragmatic and innovative with respect to both conduct of the investigation and providing solutions for the client
- Review technical documents and to construct a suitable scope of work
- Estimate the work effort required and to help in the commercial breakdown of the work
- Perform / manage routine metallographic examinations and compose / review standard reporting comments
- Perform site visits and testing as and when required
- Work extensively under the tutelage of the Principal Engineer in performing and managing the multiple work schedules to meet the commitments to the clients
Skills / Qualifications:
- Experience and recognized qualification in Metallurgy
- Experience in conducting and reporting of root cause failure analysis
- Experience in working with SEM / EDS (Scanning Electron Microscopy / Energy Dispersive analysis)
- Experience working in an ISO 17025 laboratory environment
- Experience in performing routine metallurgical examinations and evaluations
- Strong communication / presentation skills
- The ability to assess and respond to client requirements in an appropriate manner
- Ability to operate and function within a team, drawing on other expertise where required
- Flexibility and adaptability to different workloads and roles within the company
