The main purpose of job

To direct and control the staff of the department to ensure that the company’s financial and IS targets are met as efficiently and effectively as possible and to contribute to the development of the company’s strategic objectives

Main responsibilities

  • Direct and control the staff of the Finance and Information Systems Department to ensure that they are appropriately motivated and trained and carry out their responsibilities to the required standards
  • Contribute to the development of the company’s corporate strategy and develop and implement the financial and IS strategies to ensure the attainment and delivery of plans and objectives
  • Provide information and advice on financial management, financial control and procedures, and information systems, to the corporate management, directors, and staff to ensure that the company’s mission and financial and IS objectives are met
  • Prepare and implement an annual budget and regular updates to ensure the sound management of the company’s finances and to ensure that financial objectives are met
  • Develop and maintain all necessary financial and IS systems and procedures to ensure the effective and efficient attainment of corporate objectives
  • Develop, control and implement a program of internal audit to ensure that company operations are carried out efficiently and with probity and that agreed recommendations are implemented
  • Maintain a close working relationship with the external auditors to ensure compliance and cooperation with their requirements and to provide an effective audit trail
  • Negotiate and control all financial and IS contracts to ensure that services provide optimum value to the company
  • Develop and maintain appropriate arrangements for effective cash management, making payments, collecting receipts, securing banking arrangements, monitoring income, and ensuring optimum value to the company
  • Recommend and implement arrangements for costing and appraising all proposals with resource implications, including those relating to the use of external contractors and consultants, and recommend appropriate qualitative and quantitative performance measures
  • Devise and implement appropriate financial and administrative procedures for the company and ensure that these operate effectively and are communicated to all staff

Job Requirements

Knowledge, skills, and experience required
  • A minimum of BSc degree graduate and well qualified in business or financial accounting and related professions
  • Excellent knowledge of IT systems related to financial management
  • At least 10 years’ accountancy experience at a senior level
  • Senior-level managerial experience
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills…
