JOB TITLE: LOGISTICS MANAGER
NATURE OF JOB: FULL TIME

SALARY: KSHs 150,000.00-200,000.00

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Monitoring, supervising and training the drivers. Check on discipline, attendance and adherence to work schedules.
  • Coordinating and managing a fleet of transportation vehicles
  • Oversee tracking of vehicle locations by GPS system
  • Daily fuel report
  • Come up with departmental policies and strategies
  • Ensure strict compliance with company regulations by drivers.
  • Identify on-road exceptions and take immediate remedial action including coordinating and responding to emergency situations
  • Develop and present daily management reports relating to vehicle utilization and tracking
  • Monitor driver’s performance by Identifying poor trends and driving behavior through real time and weekly system reports and alerts.
  • Analyze operational efficiency of each vehicle in terms of idle time, stop time etc. as a percentage to identify any underutilized vehicles on monthly basis.
  • Make comparison of the mapped route vs. the actual route followed on each day and take follow up action to find out cause of deviation.
  • Calculate various metrics to determine efficiency of routes and areas with low presence or penetration on monthly basis for each route.
  • Maintain register of alerts from the analysis, who has been contacted and what action has been taken.
  • Preparing drivers’ schedules, records keeping, meeting Government regulations and traffic requirements
  • Ensure goods are delivered to the customers in good order
  • Develop and implement plans to improve the department
  • Ensuring good maintenance of vehicles
  • Coordinating the purchase of spare parts
  • Undertaking other tasks that are relevant to this position that may be required by management from time to time to ensure the efficient operation of the company.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Logistics/Supply Chain or related field
  • Minimum of 8 years work experience as a Logistics Manager/ Transport Manager in a busy manufacturing company
  • Good analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Excellent IT skills and ability to interpret data.
  • Integrity, confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Good report writing skills with ability to provide timely and accurate reports
  • Good record keeping skills
  • Ability to take initiative and use own judgment
  • Team management and command skills
