ENSURE PRODUCTS KEEP STANDARDS BY INSPECTING AND EVALUATE DELIVERIES
- Assures delivered products are checked against purchase specifications and purchase order
- Judges the quality, quantity, and sanitary conditions of products
- Rejects deliveries whenever there is a problem with products
- Verifies weights of products accurately using scale properly
- Verifies all deliveries using the daily delivery report
- Inspects the supplier’s invoice for accuracy in quality descriptions, quantities and prices
- Assures the net weight of Products is recorded and checked against the suppliers invoice
- Records date of delivery and products purchase directly on the products packaging
- Assures all products billed on monthly basis of weight are weighted before signing the invoice
- Weight means items separately
- Counts all products billed on the basis of count before signing the invoice
- Monitors all moving of products to storage insuring that the most perishable items are removed first
- Issues a request for credit memo when products are spoiled, do not meet specifications, or when too many have been delivered
- Maintains proper key and lock controls to maintain security of storage areas
- Locks storeroom facilities when unattended
- Issues products only after receiving a written requisition signed by authorised staff
- Maintain professional working relationship with suppliers
- Bring needs for repair or maintenance to the attention of the Controller
SECURITY, HEALTH AND SAFETY
- Laises with Security in investigation of thefts, and irregularities
- Is familiar with the policy of issuing keys out of office hours
- Inspect all store rooms, fridges and freezers on a regular basis, and reports irregularities to Controller
- Reports any suspicious behaviour of guests and staff to security
- Ensure that all potential and real hazards are reported appropriately
- Fully understands the hotels fire, emergency, and bomb procedures
- Following Emergency procedures to provide for the security and safety of guests and employees
- Work in a safe manner that does not harm or injure self or others
- Lifts heavy goods in a safe manner, and utilities lifting equipment
- Supports a safe hotel by applying hotel regulations, and adhering to existing laws and regulations
- Anticipate possible and probable hazards and conditions and notifies the Controller
- Maintain the highest quality standards of personal hygiene, dress, uniform, appearance, body language and conduct
MISCELLANEOUS
- Assist the Controller in conducting the physical inventory the physical inventory control on a monthly basis
- Attends meetings and training required by the Controller
- Accepts flexible work schedule necessary for uninterrupted services to hotel guests
- Maintains own working area, and materials clean, tidy and in good shape; reports defective materials and equipment to the Controller
- Continuously seeks to endeavour professionalism in own job function
